Rye Lane strikes again.

Ouch sorry to hear about this, hate those pump fakers sooo much. Heal up!
-
• #1080
WAC. Sorry to hear you're bruised to shit and he isn't.
Rye Lane is a gauntlet.
-
• #1081
Sorry to hear this, Lucy, have you got yourself checked out medically yet? Please do. Not being able to bend your arm is not good.
-
• #1082
Mixed media.
So strong.
Shit.
-
• #1083
i can bend it fine, the straightening is the problem. better today than it was. bruising on right side all v tender but hidden under tattoos, annoyingly #hipsterhumblebrag
rye lane is a bag of dicks, as @youramericanlover can well attest
-
• #1084
I'd definitely get it checked out (x-rayed) - you might have a hairline fracture in your elbow. Mrs J slipped on a jetty in Whitstable a few years back and couldn't straighten her arm - that was the reason.
-
• #1085
At least you managed to run dickheadkid over a bit.
Heal up.

Oops, sorry, that's what I meant. Tired when posting.
What jonuxuk says is what I was thinking of, having broken my elbow myself. That wasn't a hairline fracture, but the symptom was the same.

• #1087
it's fine, no lasting damage. scabbing nicely! no delayed obituaries for local 4 year olds either thankfully
-
• #1088
amazing. i'm not prone to collisions but i just hit a teenager on rye lane. such a shit road.
-
• #1090
Another pump faker?
-
• #1091
I hang on to my brake levers as if my life depended on it when on Rye Lane.
The bits outside the station and immediately before the shared use bit of pavement are particularly bad for pedestrian / bike interfaces. Further up, boxes of fish are the major hazard. Having said all that, it still doesn't beat Tooley Street for sheer quantity of bibshort-changing experiences
-
• #1092
I've given up trying to go fast up Rye Lane. Just too much of a hazard, in much the same was as most of Soho is, in particular Old Compton Street. Oh and Rivington Street. Need spikes on bike.
-
• #1093
i wasn't even going fast! promis guvnah. it was an acceptable pootle. he looked well sheepish when i turned round and gave him an earful though
-
• #1094
nah - he did see me but was already rolling out on his 2 brake bmx and had a bit of realisation before i t-boned him (no euph)
-
• #1095
Ooof. Are you (and the bike!) okay???
-
• #1096
Yeah, I can imagine actually - people do like to walk/run out without even looking. amazed there aren't more accidents along there really.
-
• #1097
fine thanks! just annoyed.
yeah @bashthebox people treat it as if it's totally pedestrianised, which is not only dumb but dangerous too. drives me nuts. i hate rye lane! (i also hate cyclists who cycle the wrong way up the cycle path on rye lane when it is clearly only for southerly-headed cyclists #PEDANT)
-
• #1098
Sahfark Cahncil do refer to it as a 'contraflow cycle path' on their website, but I think there's also a shared-use path sign (one of those blue circular ones) facing south as well.
They should just make it like the Blackwall Tunnel 'tidal flow' thing: north in the morning, south in the evening
-
• #1099
? i assumed because of the south-facing sign it was for southies (the northies have a perfectly good road of their own to use)
-
• #1100
I had a feeling the sign added to the confusion...it is supposed to be one way (for southies, think I'll adopt that term now) but it really isn't very clear that it is.
Someone aimed an extremely lacklustre / inaccurate kick at my bike on that path a few weeks back. Luckily he was miles off or I'd be drawing my own collision here.
Sorry to hear that Lucy but needs more turd.
