I never realised there was a comics thread.
I'm just going to shamelessly plug a book that my brother has just got a comic in: http://dirtyrottencomics.co.uk/?projects=dirty-rotten-comics-5
Review here, his is the one about anxiety.
More of his stuff here: http://amalgamatedbiscuit.blogspot.com

So, what would this thread recommend for someone * who isn't a big fan of the mainstream (Marvel/DC) superheroes but really enjoyed Hellboy, Walking Dead, Y: The Last Man, Fables and just got up to date and loved Saga?

For silly hilarity, Big Trouble in Little China is good.
I really like Trees, but im not entirely sure what is going on.
Fight club 2 is proving to be really good too (if you want to know what happens a decade after FC) -

I became a Robert Kirkman fanboi when i got into TWD, i can recommend The Astounding Wolf-man, i got the TPs rather than thr comics and its covered in 4 volumes.
And if you can get Battle Pope you should. Thr Rapture happens and the pope is a womanising drunk and gets left behind, but then God makes him hench and sends him on a rescue mission.
Its a comedy and i love it.
Probably considered blasphemous, best avoid if you are easily offended by that sort of thing. -

If you like horror, Charles Burns is very good.
His trilogy, (X'ed Out, The Hive, Sugar Skull) is excellent.
