  • Sadly the only bricks and mortar store in that list is shut until next week.

  • Obviously just take the material off the bat. You don't need the wood too.

  • I just ordered from Amazon.

  • A bit of gt85. And take your seatpost out and leave the bike inside in the warm a couple of times each winter.

If you don't have a drain hole in the bb it's not a bad idea to drill one - it saves you pouring water out of your seattube and trapped water rotting your frame from the inside.

  • Are you normal or mega in Sidi?

  • Can you describe what it look like? like a Berthoud? or colourful like a Swift?

  • I need one of those, immediately

  • I ordered some of the Planet X shoes when I did Cyclescheme. They're now saying they'll ship 24th of August. So only about three months after I ordered. Planet X are really a shambles of a company.

This doesn't help your initial question at all, beyond, maybe don't order the Planet X ones.

  • A bit of gt85.

I reckon if you have a high end thin walled tubeset it might be worth putting framesaver inside.

TBH it's the type of thing I have planned to buy and use in all of my frames, but never bothered.

  • Giro terraduro or their off-road lace up shoe the VR 90

  • Thanks both - I'd not heard anyone mention doing this before but it did ring true as I'd had to resort to 'burning' the frame twice to remove a seized seatpost (not that doing this would have prevented that particular problem - a carbon one has stopped the prob). I have all the requisite holes so hopefully should be OK.

  • Ditto. I've never owned any steel posher than 631 that's seen wet weather use.

  • Looking at going to the 6 days at Stratford Velodrome in October. Are the cheaper tickets in the upper tier to be avoided or are they good and I take it the venue is licensed? Only ever been there for bespoked.

  • There's a six-day thread, but it's pretty quiet. This is also info I would like, though.

  • I've had beer and a pie whilst watching something* at stratford velodrome.
*UCI Track Cycling 2014 World Cup - Lee Valley Velopark, London

Was in the back somewhere, the section above the shops and though these seats ain't too bad.
(don't have my seat nos as a friend got tix).

  • Aye, that's understandable, I'd want to do the same and cold-setting to 135mm shouldn't be difficult when you come to do it.

With that in mind I'd probably go through it in this order:
    Double check the hanger.
Get a stepped ferrule, without it sitting securely you'll always have subpar shifting.
    Check the limit screws.

Let us know how you get on.

  • Cheers. Will do.

I picked up a couple of stepped ferrules. I don't actually think they're the correct size (probably too small a step) , but the way they are shapped I can make them big enough to sit tight. The guy in the shop also pointed out I could just use the cable with no ferrule on the end. That is probably what I'll end up doing.

  • Cool, just purchased tickets for Day 5 (Thursday)!

  • What are these daft little, helmet mounted HUD mirrors I've seen a few people with over the last week? Y U no turn your head?

  • Y U no turn your head?

Friend with neck issues has one.

If you are physically unable to turn your head (which is best for making people behind you more aware that you are there) then it's the next best thing.

  • Very popular with the american PBPers last week I noticed.

  • I get that some people can't turn their head, but the people I've seen have all turned their heads even with them on.

  • That's so they can see ahead.
