  • Also SD card slot means I can store way way more music :)

  • Those fox jobbies look pretty sweet, although the battery looks a little small.

  • Yeah, even heavy splashes are a risk.

  • Is the tesco hudl2 about the best tablet for a hundred quid still? I'm not in for games or anything, just browsing, bit of video and some word processing

  • The other alternative, particularly re: the word processing, is a cheap Windows tablet. Most of them come with Office which is a nice bonus and there are some passable ones in the £100 bracket.

  • See previous rants about 'tablets'.

When is the N5 v2 out? Even that is being upsized a smidge by the piss-takers.

  • Rumours say October. But that would be for the US release and no doubt the UK release would be a bit later

  • Cheers. I don't need an upgrade, the N5 is basically perfect, but every time I use me bird's phone I want to throw it at a wall. It's my old Galaxy Nexus and it's so slooow. If I upgrade mine, then she gets an upgrade.

  • the N5 is basically perfect

    ^ This...

  • I'm done with upgrading every year or two, and I'm on an N5 too, but the GPS is failing...

  • Failing? How so?

  • Sometimes it'll be fine, but others it'll just drop out for 30-90 seconds.

It appears as straight-line jumps on strava, but it's most annoying when I'm trying to use it for sat nav and I miss my turning.

I'm pretty sure it started when I came off my bike and smashed up the corner where the GPS antenna and camera live.

  • smashed up the corner where the GPS antenna and camera live.

That'll do it. How much do they go for now? Ebay yourself a new one? Probably cheaper to live with it and buy a cheap Garmin though, to be honest.

  • Has there been any indicator of when Android M will be coming out on the Nexus 5. Has any tried the developer preview? I'm tempted to give it a try but can't see many details on whether there is any limited functionality

  • Anyone up on media slave/ servers? Esp on a budget/free! I have a fully working Galaxy S1 that have been using as a going climbing/underground/party phone but realize could use it as a media slave. Quick glance of google play and nothing jumps out as being the obvious choice for the task.

Want to output just on 3.5mm jack whatever I send to it. Youtube's app thing unfortunately does not work in the way I want (control it from laptop or another android phone, only phone > laptop/tv/skybox etc) over WiFi or could use bluetooth

  • The cost of the adapters will probably be more than a NowTV box with Plex side-loaded.

  • I might have a crack at fixing it myself. Replacing the camera was surprisingly cheap and easy

  • Anyone want to sell a cheap functional smart phone in London daytime tomorrow?

My better half's phone is getting ridiculous. So in the interim of finding an alternative, thought it was worth asking if anyone was selling one.

    Obviously I'll pick up.

  • It's also LG this time I think... I'd wait, but I'm phoneless so to speak. That said this HTC One GPE (M7) is actually pretty good even though it's 2 years old

  • Cheers.

4G and the battery are my main reasons for wanting to change too

  • I have a fully functional, but screen cracked, HTC one m8 you could have. I have been using it for a year with the crazy paving screen, it has been totally usable.

I realise that this may not be the best girlfriend gift ever.

  • Ha! I think you're correct. Especially as she turned her nose up at the suggestion of using my dumb phone.

Annoying that swift hasn't come out. I think I'll just make her buy the moto g tomorrow morning.

  • Picked up a cheap Moto g 1st gen.

Just thought it was worth asking if I anyone had any advice regarding the software. Upgrade it to whatever the latest version is or leave it?

    Cheers.
