Have you made an effort to clean her smell out of things?You could pretend you're cat-stealing them from scratch, woo them with nice food and stuff. Although cats do often seem to respond better to "oh, cat? yeah whatever" than "here kitty kitty..." so if you give up they might just start turning up at the window.

I think I am going to have to give up on project "get James and Higgs to come back to the flat" as I am out of ideas, and they still won't come home.
Any suggestions welcomed, however.
