no I think its a solid frame for sure, and i still dont want to go down the chinese carbon mtb route yet either. I was just mentioning the limits of the 27.2 post if you were really hopeful of getting a dropper post :-----)

Some drop is better than no drop i suppose.

Orange Crush?
£1400 too pricey? Possibly more lolz for your money - depending on what you want to do with it.
-
• #4584
Cant spend more than £1111 and I can't top it up, otherwise I would have happily spent more.

Looks like fun - a bit of everything, 27.5 tho. It's 29er cousin seems more XC orientated whereas the 120 wouldn't look (too) out of place at Bike Park Wales
-
• #4588
If i'm going for 27.5 I may as well hold out for the beast from the east 3 no?
-
• #4589
Go 29er. Wouldn't buy an Orange, paying for the name.
-
• #4590
yeah spotter stay with 29. 27.5 is manlet territory
-
• #4591
I want a 29er for endurance XC races / training.
And dicking about in epping
For everything else I'll use my 26" hardtail lolz bike.

Ha I was thinking that the other day in Hertfordshire when I saw three middle aged fatties on matching 650b full sus giving it big talk at the cafe.

Personally I'd be after something more univerisal if it were my only MTB.
66deg head angle on that Orange is so on trend, too ;)

• #4595
Hold in your mind that I've only just come over from the idea of a CX bike....
-
• #4596
I thought you had at least two CX bikes already?!
-
• #4597
oh and the KS posts have super shit reviews on reliability.
-
• #4598
No, not one cx bikes. Decided i'd rather have a 29er as I can ride more stuff with it.
-
• #4599
Just get the Thomson dropper.
125mm is enough to take me (6'2") from full leg extension to barely able to pedal sitting down.

Trail is kinda OK but it's not a burly UK hardtail, more of a kinda XC bike - correct me if I'm wrong but it's basically the same geo as the F29 series, which was a racing XC mile cruncher.
For that application 27.2 makes more sense - lyrca'd up XC whippets don't tend to use droppers or even hit the stuff that requires one.
