  • a) get a zee over slx. look better with shortcage and more bombproof, clutch is easy to maintain as well when it starts to knacker

    b) those ks posts only go to 100mm travel in a 27.2mm, which in my opinion is not enough for people as tall as us. the only other valid 27.2mm option is the thomson dropper (only 125mm travel too..) - this is the reason I am not buying another 27.2mm frame

  • Ive been convinced about zee for sure. I was thinking that this would a good frame to start maybe go over to Chinese carbon (based on mark skulls review) in time. I don't think there's much else better I can get from cyclesolutions, but feel free to make a suggestion before I start making orders.

  • Has slate been suggested?

I am also part of the London slate fan club; no idea where/why I'd ride it.

  • Trail is kinda OK but it's not a burly UK hardtail, more of a kinda XC bike - correct me if I'm wrong but it's basically the same geo as the F29 series, which was a racing XC mile cruncher.

For that application 27.2 makes more sense - lyrca'd up XC whippets don't tend to use droppers or even hit the stuff that requires one.

  • no I think its a solid frame for sure, and i still dont want to go down the chinese carbon mtb route yet either. I was just mentioning the limits of the 27.2 post if you were really hopeful of getting a dropper post :-----)
