Short cage will handle the biggest sprockets just as well as a mid or long cage, the extra cage length is to take up the slack from the front changes, not to provide extra capacity at the back. Just make sure you get the wide ratio version of the short cage Zee, not the DH version.
I can get trade price on Shimano, my thinking is that If i whip them off right away I'll be able to recoup some money on eBay as they're still new. And as I said I don't have any octalink tools. Any reason to get ZEE? Also why shortcage? If im running 1x10 surely I'll want all the range I can get?
