Did you have a choice of free gifts or did that one just have the best deal?

Well now that you mention it it's a bit bulky too...

Getting a new battery for my overheating Nexus 4 tomorrow as a stop gap till I can get a op2.
Although I'm tempted by the Rook (also as a stop gap). Anyone else?

Seems great for only £50. -

Nexus 4 now just fucked up this morning. Got it charging and it's just flashing a red light at the bottom which doesn't fill me with optimism.
Any news on when the fuck Google are going to start with their new Nexus devices? Just looking at the new Moto X's and I'd probably bite if they were available now but they're not on sale till the 25th.

I'm at 10k on the list, happy to share invites if I get any.

Rumours say October. But that's going to be for a USA release, no doubt. And a UK release could be weeks later.

Eurgh. I did manage to salvage again, just had me properly worried with all the red lights and showing no life. See what happens when those new Moto X's come up although the current one is on sale for £240...

My Moto X (2014) got a bit moist this morning thanks to a Transit van charging through standing water. Phone was in a zipped front pocket at the time.
Colleague has offered to ask the canteen for some dry rice as he's just gone for lunch. Phone apparently has some internal coatings so might not be a disaster but the phone stayed on for 3 hours after so I assumed there was only enough water to leave some drips on the screen, rather than seepage.
Feeling very bored and uncomfortable without my usual listening material. Argh.

Thanks for the offer of a quicker invite, that would be much appreciated.
You're at 10k still ? I WAS at 21k, but I'm going backwards fast, 51k and counting...... Still 3.5m would be happy to be there ;-)
Let's hope the delay does not forewarn of problems in the pipeline ???

Had a play with the Note 5 today. Was very impressed. It's a big step up if you can live without expandable memory and a fixed battery. At £385 it's pretty good value as well I reckon.

At about 13k now, I'm not in too much of a rush to get one, rather wait til some of the early kinks are ironed out.
From what I've read seems some people on list are getting invites already.

Just ordered the moto x play - hoping for an improvement on my ageing nexus 4...should be worth it for the battery life alone I reckon.

Would be interested in your views once you've got it, I'm planning to do this myself (Nexus 4 to Moto X)

shit, need a OnePlus two invite asap. I am now phoneless (I was borrowing one). Using google hangouts on a Nexus 7 is awkward
-
• #16123
So bollocks to the OnePlus Two, going to get a Moto X Pure Edition. The whole invite system is broken, and beyond a joke.

I would be happy to take a hammer and smash the shit out of my oneplus one if it wasn't paid for by my dear mother. Apart from the screen sometimes unresponsive, it also turns itself off and the only way to turn it back on seems to be plug the phone to the charger and hold down the on/off button and pray. This happens even when the battery is fully charged. Done software reset and on latest etc. I was going to open another ticket and get them to take a look, but oh man, as simple as trying to get them to send me a replacement sum tray took half a dozen emails exchanges and appreatly it'll take up to a month for that to arrive... imagine if I had to send my phone in for them to inspect?
You buy them cheap, you buy them twice is my conclusion of my oneplus experience.
I might go back to iPhone...

Let's not be rash now...
While waiting for the new Nexus 5, I got a Moto E 4G for cheap on Amazon (136€) delivered to my remote holiday's place in 24 hours. I'm impressed by this thing, appart from the atrocious loud & clunky vibrator it works very well.
