But you didn't buy them for the pomp, you got them for a titanium race frame and only put them on the pomp when you upgraded the race bike and the Avids were sent to the surplus parts box in the shed. It's different when you are buying expensive shit for a cheap frame rather than getting further use from something you wouldn't otherwise be using.
Not trying to be critical, it's just seems like a lot of money (especially to slap on a frame that discounts as low as £150)
