  • Not trying to be critical, it's just seems like a lot of money (especially to slap on a frame that discounts as low as £150)

  • It's very possible that I'm lashing out due to jealousy. I'm already £150 over budget for the project and I have still have to get the wheels built, figurE out how to install canti brakes and buy a carbon expander bung #withmymindonmymoneyandmymoneyonmymind

  • But you didn't buy them for the pomp, you got them for a titanium race frame and only put them on the pomp when you upgraded the race bike and the Avids were sent to the surplus parts box in the shed. It's different when you are buying expensive shit for a cheap frame rather than getting further use from something you wouldn't otherwise be using.

  • I have a set of now discountinued Avid SD Ultimates for the ex-polo Pompino build when I get the time to do it (rear end is a bit bent, but not by much). So yeah, another case of brakes costing more than frame and forks!
