I guess the kind of use I give a fork is way over what most forks ever actually see. My rebas did close to 4000 miles in a year, all in the UK, mostly over winter or in rainy wales.
Heh, reba air can and lowers service interval is like 50 hours or something. You must have been busy with the oil pan...

Yes.

Even though ( or perhaps because ) I keep reading that as "Asymmetric BallsTec"

The guy at TF said manufacturer recommended service intervals are bullshit, but I should still aim to change oil every 3 months given the mileage I'm doing.
I can't be bothered. I'll put them on the bike for certain events that warrant it (Highland Trail Race next year, BearBones 200 this year maybe). Otherwise rigid and 29+ up front.

It's a real shame that Marz went bust, they made bombproof forks. There are bound to be some bargains out there due to it though
-
• #4534
what was the reason they went bust? just pushed out of the market by fox and rs?

I think so, teneccho (sp) their big brother company is continuing to make stuff though, maybe continue with Moto kit but not Mtb

maybe continue with Moto kit but not Mtb
From what I read it was the other way round, MTB to continue whilst Moto had died due to being reliant on OEM and not getting any.

If anyone comes across an 1/8" 80mm fork going, let me know plz!

I hope so - I've been quietly ignoring the service interval on my Pikes.

They shipped out production to the far east in 2007 and quality dive bombed. Apparently they were making some decent forks a few years later but their reputation didn't recover.

Just started to think this way myself. Doing a lot of road/bridleway training and don't want to wreck my SID RCT3. Bought a cheap Niner MCR frame for parts bin build and now wrestling with rigid and build qr wheel or cheap Reba with existing 15mm wheel and run into ground.

You could get a nice 15mm axle rigid fork and use your existing wheel?
-
• #4543
or you could get a qr adapter for your 15mm wheel.

^ you're a star - appears from the feedback it'll work on the DT350 front hub I have.

Yes yes.... all very sensible, but who's going to buy the shiny new stuff?!

Those ENVE forks are minging. I much prefer my Whiskey No9 with it's internal cable routing.
-
• #4547
Each to their own, I guess. I think the ENVE ones make a nice change from all the Niner/On One/generic looking Chinese crabon forks out there.

Waste of money or a good way to see how I get on with a suspension fork?

Straight 1 1/8 HT so only old stylee carbons would work. They're discontinued plus removing 1kg from the front is likely to make things very front light. Will probably go steel.

pretty knackered but will work fine
Not really. The fork and wheels ( the most expensive upgrade ) on the dale are better. Transmission is simply SRAM vs Shimano at a similar level.
Cycle solutions don't have the Charge in anything bigger than the large, which I'd say is a bit too small for you.
