I've never ridden it, but I've heard its super rooty sketchy squelchy lols
I'm suffering terminal tyre choice indecision. Erring on side of caution, end of training block blah blah.
ps someone has a free entry up for grabs on STW

Might need to replace the Bushnell first though, I think the thread's stripped on one side.

Spotted you early on on one of the climbs. Did not have the capacity for speech at the time or would have said hello.
As a novice to this competitive endurance riding I was happy to ride the 6 hours (or 5 hours 40 mins) with only 30 seconds out to pee, though I was not riding all that quick. Need to learn to eat on the bike properly.

Hardest 6hr race I've done so finishing is an achievement in itself. I did a practice lap and nearly went home - very scary to start with. I managed to man up in the end and grind it out.

Which one is that?
I'm worried about torq in your sleep now

The roots and logs were very sketchy when they were still wet early in the day. Thankfully they dried out early on. I actually felt better on my last three laps than my middle three, but maybe that was because I wasn't really racing anyone by that point, and the course was quieter.
Congrats on your 2nd place!

Brighton Big Dog - early on was very greasy, add in a million roots, some very narrow singletrack and a mix of fast racers with family teams....... thankfully it dried and everyone was very good on the passing.
Torq is much less rooty and much less realy narrow singletrack

Has anyone ridden Woburn Bike Park / trails near Milton Keynes? Fun? OK on a rigid bike? Mud pluggers or slicks?
-
• #7272
Woburn is great, the trails can be a bit hard to string together as there's no signs, but just head into the forest and get busy. Rigid bike is ok, the forest is well drained as it's coniferous so I wouldn't load up serious mud tyres but it can be a bit slippery there so some knobbles are a good bet.
There is also the DH / trails area, I've not visited since it got flattened some time back, but it's since been rebuilt. DH area is to the left of the main carpark. Follow someone on a big bike if you can't find it.
There is a warden that patrols on weekends, you don't pay to park but you do pay to ride, I've forgotten how much but maybe a fiver.
Have a good one

That's perfect, thanks. I'm going to head across on Sunday I think.

Second hand 26" Cotic Soul probably fits the bill closest. Only about 1lb extra to a Ti frame, very strong and about £250 second hand for a good one. You'd probably want the medium for fun or the large for XC.

Cotic Soul would usually be one of the first I'd recommend as an excellent all-round hardtail, but they've changed from 26" - 27.5 now :-/
I take it you want to use your existing wheels and forks?
