Hmm that's true.
Might have to rethink the placement.
Main reason for having it facing back was so that it wouldn't hinder carrying the bike under the top tube.

Placement is fine, just ensure its properly tight and secure to warrant no movement.

Don't forget to lube the keyhole (frnar).

Cool cheers Ed. I moved it up a little anyway just in case, better to be safe than sorry.
I used to ride with my d lock bungeed to the top of a rear pannier, that thing rattled like a machine gun. With the bracket it's more or less silent. Bliss.
Looks like shit though.
