  • All four are great. Would look great on the wall together.

  • Also anyone used a Sony A99? I have a few really nice Minolta lenses that I use on my Dynax 7000i and thinking a digital body that fits them might be fun.

  • So what's the difference between the 4 and the 5? Worth the upgrade?

  • Reviews I have seen suggests that the 5 is able to give more black, like a 40% increase or sth. I won't be able to compare coz the one we use at work is even older... but I can tell you in a couple of days if the 5 is any good.

  • Anyone has problem running Lightroom on their Macs? Since upgrading (accidentally) to CC aka 6 I think, every time I do anything, as simple as choosing images in the library mode or adjusting anything, the fans on my Mac come on like crazy. Activity Monitor doesn't suggest anything out of the norm. I have played with different settings in Lightroom with no improvement... And it's certainly not my Mac as it's a 2015 model with maxed out specs.

  • Picked this up today from Oxo gallery (in support of WWF). 20x30in Giclée print - has to be seen in person to appreciate the lighting. http://www.rogerhooper.co.uk/web_images/OXOJUL15/index.html

  • Moonset over the Tay by Michael Rennie, on Flickr

This one is for @General_Lucifer, Dundee / the Tay doesn't look too bad here aye? :)

  • Which one?

  • Bottom

  • I like the bottom one, but maybe warm up the face a tad?

  • ^ I agree.

what software are people using to edit their photos? I'm considering getting photoshop + lightroom, but wondering if there were any other options? I'm a complete n00b, I did photography in college and loved it but was all film based, no digital.

  • i just use the basic controls in the iphoto library on my mac

  • ah no mac.

  • Lightroom works well enough for me, Photoshop was always overkill and too fiddly.

  • aye, I was only going to get Lightroom but Adobe have a deal on where you get Lightroom and Photoshop for £6.98 a month at the moment.

  • Yeah, the creative cloud package is tempting for the mobile integration. I think I'd still never end up using PS though.

  • yeah sorry, not particularly recommending using a mac or anything, just meant maybe some basic controls will do it. I lose interest in spending loads of time editing photos, takes too long and I usually end up reverting to the original and preferring it.

guess it depends what you're doing with the pictures

  • Ah okay.

Yeah, I'm getting a bit ahead of myself to be honest. I'm not getting the camera until the weekend anyway.

  • Nice. Where is that?

The company that do the BA in-flight mag contacted me today about using a photo.
Apparently fences are a big attraction in the UK.
