  • Attempted to reverse my contribution to gentrification by going to The Baron in the arches (then went to marks and Spencer's :-/ ) . Anywhere called that deserves custom.

  • Champagne & Fromage

    ***dammit, too late

  • Anyone been to The Crooked Well in Camberwell for a Sunday lunch? Thinking of trying it this weekend

  • Stretching the definition of Brixton borders to breaking point there...

  • Poundland... change it yourself.

  • BMaybe about 500m
In my book anything that close to Cold Harbour Lane counts
Now the point was is it any good for lunch are are we arguing over semantics

  • Gerrymanderer.

I've not bin sorry. Heard it's good tho.

  • Claudia from Mango Landin' dayz has opened a record shop in Reliance Arcade, go and spend some money there... And give her a kiss from me...

  • That's not how restraining orders work.

  • ^ lizzles

  • Bullfinch Brewery which used to sit within Anspach & Hobday are opening up their own place in the Railway Arches on Rosendale Road (behind the big white building I used to live in on Norwood Road). They open on 28th August and have a collab with Marble brewery on tap. I'll see you there if you pop in, it's a good opportunity to also visit Canopy behind costcutter too.

  • Anyone fancy a swift arf on the way home?

EDIT: ended up working late then p*nctured in herne hill (failed bunny hop into a kerb), had forgotten my tools so walked home in the pissing rain drinking a can of lager.

  • Does anyone use those fishmongers on Electric Avenue? Is the fish fresh? I was in one of them the other day, got some pretty good raw prawns and mackerel, but while we were there a bloke came in from the back and dumped two big frozen fish in the sink to thaw, making me wonder about the whole setup. Maybe they do that for the bigger/more exotic fish only? Anyway ours was pretty fresh and good value.

  • I used to go to one inside the market. They had lobsters crawling all over the place and their fish was very fresh. I've bought from guys on electric avenue and found they can be a little frozen still inside but you can't argue with 3 seabasses for a fiver.

  • I wouldn't go anywhere near those places... They sold me refrozen chicken once many years ago, it turned into sponge when I cooked it, dinner ruined... I never went back... The hygiene can be a bit iffy too, frozen fish sitting on top of 'fresh' uncovered chicken, anyone? Nah...

Any of the places in the covered markets are way better...

  • Cheer Brixlords.

  • Cheers Brixlady and Brislord.

    Fixed.

  • My Sunday morning market shopping is very different these days, I do miss Brixton but buying my veg ten yards from the Pacific Ocean wins hands down...

Wouldn't trade it for the world!

  • Brisbane borders >>>>>>>>>>>

  • I'm a North Eastie now... Oh the irony...

  • best to use the ones inside brixton village (market), usually use the one which is beside the colombian??? butcher, next door to honest burger, really fresh fish, good staff, great service, or the fishmongers which is next door to franco manca on the other side. Similar prices, and again very fresh fish, or if you don't mind spending a bit more, there's the fishmongers on atlantic road, opposite argos...

  • ^ this my favorite was the one next to honest burger, the little one by the agile rabbit pizza is also good. and if you're feeling flush thee is that one by clapham south tube.

  • spotted in bfb, allegedly.
