Swrve stuff is good. I have some of their shorts and they've held up really well.

Can anyone recommend me a sleeping mat (or air bed) and sleeping bag, or where to buy them from? I'm going camping by accident and suddenly realised how unprepared I am.

I'm a medium, perhaps even a small so that's a no-go. I think I'll give the Altura Airstream's a try.

Would be perfect at about half the price. :)

Just been giving my bike a service; I had it powdercoated at Armourtex a year ago and was pretty happy, but on close inspection it looks like there is rust bubbling happening underneath the lacquer on a few areas, notably on the head tube, left fork blade and on downtube above bottle bosses.
I'm worried that if I leave it the frame, a Roberts Audax Pro with S+S couplings, will be ruined, but equally, a powdercoat should not be doing this and last longer than a year?
I store it inside, in the dry, and clean it after every wet ride so it's not like it's abused or anything, and there's no way water is collecting in the frame as the cables are all external and there's a hole drilled in the BB shell to allow any water that may find its way in to escape again...
Has anyone had similar or able to shed light on wtf is going on? I'm a bit pissed off.

Am trying to find German stockists of the Reynolds Assault SLG disc clincher wheelset. The Reynolds website is cleverer than me so won't let me check who has them. Starbike and bike24 are out of stock.

Probably a stupid question, but I just wanted to write it out and have someone double check my understanding.
If a credit card deal has 0% on purchases for 12 months, does that mean that I will accrue no interest in that period and I can spend up to the credit limit just paying the minimum payment amount.
ie
Credit Limit = £1,000
Minimum payment = £10
Interest = 0% for 12 monthsI make purchases of £1,000 on day one. Each month up to and including month 10 I repay the minimum payment:
10 X 10 = 100
1,000 less 100 = 900On month 11 I repay £900.
Month 12 I have £0 owing. Therefore there are no extra charges.
Basically I think that I might need a sort of bridging loan in the next 1-6 months to cover purchases and thought a 0% credit card would be the cheapest way of doing it rather than taking money from savings.
Cheers.

Send them the photos explaining the situation. IDK much about paint, but IME power coats are usually brutally durable so your situation seems odd. My guess would be someone didn't prepare the surface properly.

Yes, that's how it works. They're gambling on you forgetting or being unable to pay it off after the 12 months.

Done and replied: they're offering to re-coat adding an anti-oxidant primer gratis so it seems you're right with regards the original frame prep. I still can't figure out how moisture is getting in to those areas-even the bit on the left fork blade is totally cut/chip free. Anyway... best to get it sorted.
I think it makes colour choice more limited though so no more electric-purple beastie :(

What does the inside of the tubes look like? Is the rust coming through the tube maybe?
(I have no idea, this is not a leading question).

The frame looks fine on the inside, not pristine but definitely not anything I'd be concerned about, the locations of it are also weird because it's not in the 'normal' areas-even above but not around the bottle bosses themselves or mid-tube on the top tube. The only thing I can think it may be is tiny pores in the powder coat itself caused either by bubbling or debris that's allowed moisture to penetrate.
On the head tube especially there's just no reason for the frame to rust up like that unless water is being drawn up or through the coating and when I sent it off to be stripped and sprayed it wasn't because there was rust but rather because the frame colour was (imhop) rank and tatty.
I dunno really, it's a strange one. Best buy a new bike I suppose?

Looks suspiciously like contamination of the frame surface prior to painting. Possibly greasy finger marks or similar. Take it back and see what Armourtex think but, as you say, it shouldn't be looking like this.

My Bob Jackson was pc'd by them over 5 years ago and has seen much more abuse than yours. I don't see how it could be anything other than a problem in the prep/coating process. Good on them for offering to sort it.

Why does the convention exist on here to remove prices from classified ads once the goods have sold?
Just curious, as I've not seen it done elsewhere and it's useful to see what sorts of prices certain items sell for, for whatever reason.

I have both saddles, no it most definitely ain't, but I find the Arione comfortable which means nothing as luckily for you your bum isn't mine....
-
• #70199
otherwise there would be a way to track prices, and people would be able to see the true value of things. people don't want this (e.g any thomson components, BMW frames, etc etc).

I agree that you don't tend to see it. I do it here cos if you say it's sold but leave the price up you'll still get some numpty PM'ing you 6 months down the line asking if it's still available...
Any suggestions for neat cycle clothing that's maybe cheaper than rapha?
Looking for more stuff to ride in that isn't lycra and as I'll be hopefully working as a cycle instructor riding about burning the crotches out of normal stuff isn't fun.
