Hi all, new to the forum!
Seems like a good place to chat about retro bikes, even though I couldn't be classed as a fixed gear or single speed rider from London area by any means :-).

Hello! I'm new here, just found the forum so I've got loads of reading to do. I'm a North London-based Nordic girl, commuting to work in central London on my singlespeed Trek daily but would be interested in doing longer rides at the weekends. Any girl SS riders here?? I'm fairly new to London so would love advice on nice leisurely routes in and around London where I could avoid crazy traffic. I'm also thinking of getting a new bike but haven't really made up my mind on the gear issue yet. My heart says no but my body says yes.

Hi Leila-K, just joined the forum and started reading back on this thread. I'm a Finnish girl based in North London (N8). Not very athletic but I love riding my bike and getting to know London better, bit by bit. I'd be interested in doing longer rides at the weekends, nothing too ambitious, no lycra required and maybe a beer at the pub in the end. Give me a shout if it sounds like your kind of thing!
edit: Meh, didn't realise the reply would end up here, sorry about the double post.

Hi there! I just arrived in London, so I thought it was an appropriate time for signing in here, after having been just reading in the past. A quick intro : I'm Clément, I come from Paris where I've been living and riding for the past three years or so. I ride both fixed and geared bikes, although at the moment I took only the fixed one with me. I'm looking forward to discovering London and its surrounding on my bike, doing group rides (chill ones for now!), drinking beer and listening to live music. And later ride my road bike from Paris and start exploring the country side during longer spins!
See you later!

I've lurked for a while, so hello. I came on to almost buy jontea's genesis but didn't in favour of a cheap charge in London, after my original charge was stolen. Seeing what he would have posted it for in the end I wish I hadn't! I bike commute 10 mile each way at the moment, will go for longer when I've been doing that regular for a while. Errr yeah

Hi everyone,
As third year Sports Science students we are looking for volunteers to take part in our research into endurance performance in cycling.
We are based at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. All tests will be cycle based and participation will grant you a free VO2max assessment which will show you the maximum amount of oxygen that you can use during exercise. Additionally will we give you a Critical Power assessment which represents the maximum work rate that you can maintain (non-stop) during exercise. Finally we will be able to determine your anaerobic capacity from these tests. If you are interested in knowing how fit you really are and improving your training these measurements are vital for any endurance athlete. We will be starting our research between mid of October till end of November.
Attached to this email is a document with more details of our research. Please email cbjbresearch@gmail.com if you are interested or have any other questions.
Thank you,
Christian Bernal and Joe Biggins

Hello fellow cyclists,
Ciaran here from Belfast. Been browsing this forum for a while now and its about time I signed up.
Been riding fixed for roughly 3 years now after my interest was picked up in London, when a messenger shouted "Lights you prick cunt" as he flew past me on Oxford street. I liked his bike and choice of swear words. So I came home and purchased a Subrosa Lethum FGFS, trashed the life out of it for 2 1/2 years and eventually saved up and bought myself a 2015 Cinelli Parallax.
Hopefully see a few Belfast-ians about, normally take part in the night rides with Fellow Bike Shop once a month, but have neglected the saddle recently due to work and other commitments.
