KMC Devil!
It's like the other KMC Tester recommended, but more expensive for no obvious reason.

Probably for the rarity value of being NOS, since I believe that the X101 supersedes the D101 as KMC's premier track chain.

paint looks mint, good stuff
what rims are those?
Yeah paint is almost in perfect condition. Wheels are hyperons

I have excellent experience with the KMC stainless chain too. Don't recall the name for it atm though.

I concur, KMC Z1X Inox, is great. Stretches a tiny bit more than a hardened non-stainless chain, but great on a beater. Won't rust.

Also sometimes comes labelled as KMC S10. It's bushingless, which I don't like for serious bikes, but it's certainly an option for your hack bike. Can't comment on durability as I've only used one for a fairly short period on my SS MTB

Since this was taken, I've destickered the rims and moved the bars/stem 5mm down.
I really don't like the green Pave's on this frame. I need to change to black ones, but I can't justify it because they're almost new. Once they've worn out I'll be buying black ones. Really happy with it though. Ride quality is super, so is the handling and it's not even that heavy! Well, it's 8.7KG and that's with only a carbon seat post. Lots of weight to be saved if I feel so inclined.

Looks great, im sure it'll be fantastic to ride. It just needs some bottle cages...

Yeah, took the picture as soon as I got home yesterday. Cages going on later today.

What was the brief? Just a nice riding summer road bike?
-
• #103437
Actually the opposite. '4 season' road bike. By that I just mean it has clearance for mudguards and has mudguard eyelets. I contemplated discs but I just cba with the cost of upgrading all my bits and also the effort of maintaining them. When hydro is down in price in maybe two years, I'll probably jump on board. But not yet. It'll clear mudguards and 27c on the normal 6800 calipers too which is good news for me.

This is really lovely, MAX is such a beautiful tubeset in every respect. I actually don't mind the green tyres with that purple either.
I bet this does ride perfectly.

Bitch please. Columbus Spirit. Max forks and stays. Spirit everything else.
I don't mind the green. But I think it'll definitely look better with black in the winter and gum in the summer.

Still rad :)

• #103441
Oh and it's gonna look sweeeeet with mudguards when I get some.

Is there a "Shit ex-fixie skidders say" thread?

Its lavender not purple!

It's nice.
Looks a bit like Barney the Dinosaur with the purple and green.

Langster is complete, for now. The stem looks a bit of a state but it was the only option due to my low funds and back problems. Might go for a 17deg stem if I find one.

I can look round for a -17 at some point. I know I have it somewhere in the house.

Looks ace. Fancy a ride into Hertfordshire and some gravel?
Also similar thoughts to the Talbot... except I'm waiting SRAM wireless x hydraulics (never going to arrive!) -
• #103448
I'd rather ride into Kent and ride up and down some hills to be honest! I've been on the cross check for the last couple of months so am looking forward into actually getting up a hill quickly...

Hertfordshire gravel?
Be careful, it got me a few weeks ago there
Galvanised, so it's actually somewhat corrosion resistant unlike other chains.
