We went there earlier this year I thought it was wonderful, annie thought some of the dishes lacked balance. Again like HKK really good alcohol free drinks but no pairings.

omfg, amazing
Dishes were incredibly complex, yet subtle. Rather than overpowering with overly bold flavours ingredients complimented each other. Probably the best meal of my life.

Not one to brag but I've been twice. Stayed at the restaurant the first time, three years ago, which was great. Then stayed at Broughton House B&B two years ago which was also very good. It is v spendy but they were both special occasions when we visited. I didn't think the restaurant could've got better over the course of a year but it exceeded my expectations. Thinking about it now I need to go back. The village is brilliant as well, its got an amazing cheese shop, brewer and coffee shop. Just book it, you won't be disappointed

Sounds like one to add to the list, nice.
Last year when looking for a birthday dinner for Mrs IP I looked at the Hand & Flowers without anticipating a booking for a Saturday night would be a years wait. Luckily we're still together and it's only a month away now, anyone else been?

Yes, it's amazing, or was when I went. The mackerel scotch egg was incredible.

l'atelier joel robuchon had been on our hitlist for a while. Having reason to celebrate meant we finally booked ourselves lunch.
It was close to perfection, we had the 8 course menu. The service was casual and friendly, watching the food being prepared and the cooking on the tepanyaki plancheur was near too.
Food was subtle but cleanly flavoured, great balance and some amazing textures.

Where shall I go for my birthday? Previous years have included: Bocca di Lupo, Locanda Locatelli, the Shiori, the Manor, Galvin at Windows...
Suggestions please! London-only, and if it's south of the river, that's a bonus.
