  • Buy a pinnacle arkose.

  • I've heard a few horror stories about cracking pinnacle frames due to cheaper evans quality

  • So you want the moon on a stick then? An Adventure Road Bike (which is marketing bollocks of the highest order) that isn't ugly, with disc brakes, that's going to be used for winter road riding and the occasional off road ride?

Why not just get a disc equipped road bike with clearance for larger tyres? It'll suit your needs the most.

  • Please buy a Slate in size 56, ride it round the park a bit, realise you live in london and sell it to me.

  • No more adventure or commuter bike chat in this thread pls

  • I've heard a few horror stories about cracking pinnacle frames due to cheaper evans quality

best rule out BMC then, Cannondale of course. Someone probably has broken a Giant sometime too.

  • What about the Raleigh with hydraulic? is it cheap enough to go for?

  • You might find a Cannondale CAADX Rival 22 for a little over a grand if you look around.

  • I'd be happy with both of those, but sadly I can't buy outside the scheme and can't top up either.

    cyclesolutions.co.uk

    £1100 to spend.

  • If it were me I'd be looking at the Felt F65x or the TCX SLR 2.

  • Bowman Pilgrims? Good looking too.

  • Not available from that cycle scheme provider though.

  • I think you're right. I tried a tcx up at cadence yesterday. It's really good, but not as good as the defy that I rode for comparison. I used to love mountain biking but I have to accept that london has made me soft

  • Why them out of interest? Apart from your obvious liking of your own giant?

  • Both get consistently good reviews.

  • Tyre clearance seems to be a problem on the rear of the felt, unless they've updated it. So i'm thinking the giant...

  • What size tyres will you be riding on?
AND HOW MUDDY WILL YOU BE RIDING IN?

  • @spotter I can ride up to @CleverMike Weds after work and leave the Giant there for you

  • My work uses cyclesolutions now. They are crap, any bike you'd actually want isn't available on cycle to work, even if its under £1k. For example the TCX is listed on the site but only to "Buy Now" and not "Cycle to work"

  • I have a brand new in box Enve CX cantilever fork with 1 1/8th steerer that I would let go of for £300 if anyone is interested.

  • Ace, that would be great.

Ive got them to agree to price match places now, so I have to find somewhere that stocks either the raleigh, felt or giant cheaper in the bigger sizes.

If they'll price match Rutland, I could get the TCX SLR 1 for £1,038.99, but I could also get the Raleigh and a Romin for that....

  • Giant camden has TCX SLR 1 Ultegra in large reduced to £1039 if that's any help?

Just popped up on their instagram.
