It works fine. No real pressure is exerted on the cables and it'd take a long time to mark a decent bag.

Are you getting the Six Moon tent shipped straight from them or do they have reseller this side of the pond?
-
• #1654
Ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk do some of the six moon stuff

So they do! Thanks Andy.
It's a lot more expensive from that website. But I guess after shipping and import taxes you'd probably end up paying the same. -

As Andy said. :)
Although I apparently got the last lunar duo, and they only had one 45" pole left by the time I was ready to buy, so I ended up going with Gabes' suggestion and contacted Stu at Bear Bones.
Also, the £19.99 pole price changed to £34.99 when I actually clicked to buy, so Stu is the better option anyway. -

Weekend set up
Tent, change of clothes & sleeping bag.
Need to get some bungee cord tomorrow so I can strap the sleeping bag to bars properly and also strap shoes and other small misc items to the saddlebag.

Yes indeed, good spot, that's a Restrap saddle bag that he ordered a couple of weeks ago.

Check that your shifters aren't obstructed by the sleeping bag before you set off!

I've got a little weekend trip this weekend...starting out from Alton, in Hampshire....hopefully ending up in lyminton, but anywhere by the sea will suffice! Bit of new forest and South downs way and nose following.....with beer accompaniment!

Cheers. I think I'll probably just end up buying one and using it. At the moment I need to sort out a bunch of other stuff first. Thanks again.

Well things tend to take a bit longer when you don't already have most of your design done for you.... 'lol'

Hopped on the train to Oxenholme on Wednesday night. Headed along the road to Garsdale then up the Coal Road onto the Pennine Bridleway. Had 4h "sleep" above Dent Fell then rode down the PBW back to Hebden Bridge.
The Yorkshire Dales section of the PBW is excellent, stunning views even with the low-cloud and pouring rain, lots of up and down and very quiet all around. Pendle to Calderdale had some nice riding too and there was one point you could turn round and see all the way back to the Dales. The bit between the Dales and Pendle featured a lot of skirting along field boundaries, non existent tracks, cow poo, sheep poo, more cow poo, several fields with angry bulls and a few farms with unfriendly dogs... Not in any hurry to ride that bit again!
Waking up...
Just after the rain stopped...

A friend wanted to try bikepacking and his pal wanted to come along too.....from Alton in Hampshire, I had a brief look at some routes out and settled on the hangers way down towards the South Downs way, then find a spot near the sea for a bivi. This should have been about 30-35 miles.
At the start of the hangers way....
Iphone 6, point and click......
I never accounted for the hills though, and it was a very tough 21 miles later, that we settled down for the night in the corner of a field....
My mate was ok, but his pal was broken.....this was largely due to his rubbish BSO, lack of cycle shorts, having not been on a bike for 5 years, massive backpack with his butler in, my complete lack of planning and his stubbornness......Yes, it fucking was....
I have open cable on Kaffenback run my diy bag velcro no problems. Can't remember right now if cable above or below tho.
