That's my only recommendation under £100. Over £100 you can have the latest version of the same thing, which is smaller, or one with heart rate and cadence, but from your post it sounds like you want something basic for now, which makes sense.
Second hand - sure, but my GPS was stolen so I am biased about that.

Just had a quick search of the thread and seen that some people were going to try to register for previous editions having lost/thrown out/not received their registration form. Are they ok with rider number and photo ID?

I put down 6 hours and I am starting at 7am...

Last year I omitted to take my registration form when registering at Exel, fortunately I had photo ID with me and they kindly printed off a new form.

Anyone know if you can take your bike in with you when you go to ExCel to register or do you need to lock up outside?
-

There's a thing inside to lock up in though. Maybe even a ticketed bike cloakroom; I can't remember.

Last year there was bike concierge within Excel. This included a slight wait to give/take bike but it was acceptable. If I remember correctly they were also doing free bike checks. If I was cycling there this year, I'd lock up outside. Plenty of cyclists milling around so will be safe.

@colin122 and @Eagle_Glenn,
Sorry to hear about your injuries, I too came off my bike two weeks ago and fractured my hip, concentrating on walking first then hope to get back on the bike in a couple of months...
Sorry for thread derail everyone else, enjoy the ride, wish I was doing it!

Did anyone who's done it before have their bike inspected before the ride? I'm a bit worried about this 'fixed only with 2 brakes' malarkey.
-
• #1494
I was worried about this, printed off the booking form email and the rider number and start time number as well.

No one was checking as far as I could see, would keep to the middle of the pack while in the waiting zone.

Cheers! Will hope everyone's still too tired to notice..

Picked up a Garmin Edge 200 for £69 from Halfords! Thanks for the recommendation.

Went and picked up my number, no free stuff, everyone going mad in Wiggle, nothing much else to report.

Sorry to hear that - yours sounds a bit more serious than my dodgy arm!
Good luck to everyone entering!! At least you won't have me holding you up (until next year anyway)!
Fingers crossed for a nice, sunny (but not too sunny) day after last years wash out!
