There are rules in place to equalise trains stopping races though. ie. the break and peloton getting restarted with the same time gaps. Also, this situation makes much more of a difference when the race is only 6hr long vs. days and there's drafting involved.

I'm talking more about navigational choices ruining your race result, say choosing the ferry and they cancel it for the day or riding a road around the ferry that has been washed away when your opponent uses the ferry.

Last year in Italy, Garmin issues not only added to the length of my ride and the vertical mileage but, most seriously, to the stress level of the ride. If it can alleviate stress, a well planned and mapped route which one is confident of following is worth quite a few hours sleep.

Why not? The roads? There's a Jadrolinija Ancona to Zadar (although I agree Split makes more sense) although it's Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays only until tomorrow, then Monday to Friday from this Friday.

On either route, the usual decent Jadrolinija coffee I'm sure. I love how they have that even on the really small ferries.

Finding someone on trackleaders if you don't know their number is a pain. For TD the list was sorted alphabetically and the blue dot had their initials. This time no sensible sorting and race numbers in blue dot!
Or am I missing something?
