  • l'attention de tout le monde! Gather your croissants and berets, SPFG is going to Paris.

Dates are 17th to 19th of july, I'll have to confirm leaving time from St Paul's

    Route Plan & Distance

    London to Newhaven – 90 km / 56 miles
    Newhaven to Dieppe – Ferry
    Dieppe to Paris – 160 km / 100 miles
    Total cycling distance = 250 km / 156 miles

Exact route to be planned soon

General Idea of travelling costs (IF YOU BOOK ASAP)

Ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe Leaving at 11PM and arriving at 5am (kip on the boat)
    28pounds

Eurostar from Paris Gare Du Nord to London St Pancras International

For the optimal time spent in paris on Sunday and the best priced ticket back it will cost 78 pounds
Plus you'll need to Reserve a space for your bike which will cost an additional 25 pounds.
Book the 20:13 train which arrives into london at 21:39 (although if you wish to return earlier/later that's at your discretion just let the group know)

First buy your own Eurostar tickets in the normal way, then call Eurostar's baggage line on
0344 822 5822 to book a bike space on the same train as you will need to quote your Eurostar booking reference.

To be updated today if we can get any kind of group discount.

We have at least 3 definites that can book asap, show your commitment to the spfg fam.

    Au revoir

  • Newhaven>Dieppe>Gournay-en-Bray>Paris
You could save time by going straight to Paris from Gisors.

Best fun ever, wish we could come.

K&I have done this twice by this route
    .

  • A heads up on the Eurostar - there will be a maximum of 8 places available for bikes on any train (it's only 4 on some trains) but if the train is already booked up they will guarantee that your bike will arrive 24 hours (maximum) after you do. If there are lots of you travelling you might have to A) hang around at Kings X for your bike to come on a later train. B) come back to Kings X the next day to collect your bike.

  • Thanks for the info John! much valuable, very welcome.

@moog cheers for the heads up, one of the reasons we need to book this as soon as possible,
I wouldn't mind hanging around at kingsx or dropping it off for an earlier train if need be.

  • If you had a bit more time you could catch the train back to Le Havre then cycle up the coast to Dieppe.

This is also a nice (signposted) ride up EuroVelo 4.

  • Worth noting that under 25s can get 20% off the ferry ticket if you phone up to book.

  • this is awesome! cant wait! lets get some numbers and book in advance! @Not_Bruce
