  • Hubjub have some TB25s for cheap, or did when I last looked.

  • Yeah, I'll take it! I'm in E2, but can meet wherever

  • It looks like you could still use a brake on those Planet X rims. Might be worth emailing them to see if there's a decent amount of metal on that sidewall. You probably won't get a educated response, but it's worth a try.

  • 5ish, to be there latest 6:30 Meet at lmnh mare street

  • Oooh, I'll try and keep this in mind when comes Sept !

  • I'll keep you updated and post up when the first dates are confirmed, usually Mac from British Cycling will let the local clubs know (Ich bin ein Kingston Wheeler)

Edit. It's usually around 4 pound a session to cover Mac's costs.

  • So as the season is drawing near I'm going to be replacing all the cabling on the race bike.

Does anyone have experience with the Jagwire sealed cable kit? I want to try and keep as much dirt out of the system as possible, as last year my shifting was horrible from October on.

  • Should I incorporate some running into my training?

Slowly ride urself into the red zone, dismount on a flat grippy grass surface and run 20 secs with your bike shouldered - if this drains you completely when you remount 20 sec later u need to concentrate a lot on the running aspect of CX racing.

  • Don't know if you saw the horrendous job I did with cabling in the AQA thread! That was using the 'XL' cables, rather than sealed inners though.

Anyway, managed to get it all set up and it works fine - no impact on braking or shifting from what I can see. Just have to decide in advance where you want the cables to run and how you want to keep them attached to your frame.

  • Cheers

Having watched a couple of videos on mounting/dismounting the bike, I've come to the conclusion that I'll be landing on my face rather a lot.

  • Might improve things.

  • Like making love to a beautiful woman, u don't have to be good at it to enjoy it

  • Hopefully, this will be slightly less embarrassing for me...

  • Just took a look, I think I've got my terms mixed up. My bike has internal routing, so I'm not likely to need the fully sealed system right?

  • It'll be your first race, no-one is expecting you to dismount and remount like Sven Nys.

You'll be plodding rather than running too.

  • plodding rather than running

    Very much so.

  • Training on the marshes was excellent, as in horrible, but beneficial.

  • Ah nice! I'll be there next week

  • So, show of hands, who is heading to Bethlam this evening? I'm in...

  • Yep, I'll be there- orange Genesis Day One and an islington CC jersey

  • Me too - green Genesis vapour. I'll be towards the back somewhere, judging by previous.

  • Cool. I'll be on a pale blue Giant TCX, nondescript kit and a white Specialized evade for extra aerozzz ;0)

  • I'll be there. At the back....

  • Just listen out for my honking brakes!
