  • I've just updated https://goo.gl/RBHtiS again, with upto date data

    Things of interest:

    • Kurt has dropped behind his target miles, and is now not catching up with it on his rest days.
    • Steve's speed seems to have levelled off again (back at about 14.6 mph), although that may be to do with location as much as anything.
    • Steve is starting to get back to doing similar daily times as he was pre accident.
  • steve mentioned he was going to take it easy for a week or 2 as he was feeling quite fatigued. Guess from coming back so hard after such an injury.

  • He's back on it then.

    Live long and prosper Steve.

  • I think Steve is inventing a new profession, that of riding a bike 200 miles a day. Unlike most other professions, though, he's doing it without any rest days and, it seems, on minimal pay. I hope it works out for him.

  • a vocation, surely?

  • I thought about that, but decided on 'profession', which can, of course, be vocational. People do so many different things, why should there not be someone in our society who just rides 200 miles a day as his/her work?

  • A profession is a vocation founded upon specialised educational training, the purpose of which is to supply disinterested objective counsel and service to others, for a direct and definite compensation, wholly apart from expectation of other business gain.[1] The term is a truncation of the term "liberal profession", which is, in turn, an anglicisation of the French term "profession libérale". Originally borrowed by English users in the nineteenth century, it has been re-borrowed by international users from the late twentieth, though the (upper-middle) class overtones of the term do not seem to survive retranslation: “liberal professions” are, according to the Directive on Recognition of Professional Qualifications (2005/36/EC) “those practised on the basis of relevant professional qualifications in a personal, responsible and professionally independent capacity by those providing intellectual and conceptual services in the interest of the client and the public”.

A vocation (from Latin vocātiō, meaning "a call, summons"[1]) is an occupation to which a person is specially drawn or for which she/he is suited, trained, or qualified. Though now often used in non-religious contexts, the meanings of the term originated in Christianity.

    internet semantics, eh.. ;)

although in steve's case, perhaps it's a vacation... (too far?)

  • I don't really understand what he's doing... I thought he was going to rest?

  • Isnt the restart on 1st August?
