DNS'd the Devil's Punchbowl on Sunday even though I had booked it weeks ago. Just didn't fancy the overnight stay on Saturday. So I made up for it yesterday by riding the Boat Trip perm. Lovely route but with a few scary main road sections. Got caught in a rain shower a couple of times and showered in bugs too. Pretty much flat aside from a couple of steep ones towards the end. Fairly good road surfaces and very quiet too. Like where the hell did everyone go? Didn't bother stopping at the last control but then realised that I only had a couple of small pork pies and a snickers. So I ran on that till I got home, which involves teaching a yoga class on the way.
Haven't submitted my .gpx file yet but sure it's going to be fine otherwise I have a few days to get my July ride in.
Been wanting to do this ride for ages and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a perm near London.
