Made me giggle

Wonderful win for Cummings, I was shouting for Yates but he faded them Steve just came out of nowhere, loved his catch of the two silly French riders, haring around them a bit sketchily on a corner and then just carrying on, proper mugged them

What of todays stage, Cavendish favourite in most peoples eyes?
-
• #2055
Sagan to finish second.

Tinkoff and Orica will surely drop the pure sprinters on that last climb so it should be an exciting chase back by Lotto and EQS.
Wouldn't be surprised to see some riders heading off after today (or maybe wait until the rest day).

A few days ago the commentators were saying Nibbles wouldn't finish. I bet he takes a stage yet.

Sky surrounded by gendarmes during their warm up today, but have seen a tweeted video of Froome getting a warm round of applause on emerging from the bus

Did lemond just say sky should release their data?
-
• #2060
Not sure I understand Sagan getting in the break today. Given he hasn't been winning any other way though, what's he got to lose?
Releasing data is only useful if every team does it. Happy to put mine out there btw.

Probably wants to compare Vo2max numbers

The lunatics who assault athletes are the tip of the iceberg of fanatics who will never be satisfied since it is not practically possible to "prove" the absense of cheating. Sky could release all their data, every team could, and there will still be a percentage of fans who see in the data what they expect (want) to see.
Interesting data, but I don't think it would change anyone's mind.

• #2063
I think his point was that not releasing it, by not being transparent, they're not doing themselves any favours. You may be right though.

Sagan in the break! Adam Yates too

You don't see any F1 teams releasing the tech drawings and results.
Data won't prove anything if release to general public. It's a diversion. It doesn't answer the question does X dope.
You could give all riders data, biopassport etc. to an independant review panel to look at.You could dope up an amateur and he'd have worse results that any pro but would be doped even though his data would look clean.
What should be done is the UCI reforms Brian said he'd do. Independent scrutiny.

I guess Sky have enough money to hire the best rider in the world, and build the best team around that rider. Fuck, they've got a couple of other riders who might be able to challenge for GTs riding for the rider. Combine that with all the best backroom stuff that their budget allows and it shouldn't surprise that that team comes out on top. It's possible they could be cheating to make that edge bigger, but it would make a mockery of everything British Cycling has done up to now. Kind of a huge legacy to destroy - really can't see someone like Brailsford letting that happen.
And it's all so fucking boring too. Endless twats hanging on every word swivel-eyed lunatics like digger forum say. Go back to contrails, world trade centre conspiracies and Dan Brown symbolism. -
