I did a bit of side by side testing with Stages and PT track too (for anyone who is interested) - Stages tested well (+/- 1%) from z1 to vo2max - but after that became progressively more inaccurate, topping out with a 7% difference at peak power.
Conclusion: Stages is probably a pretty good compromise if you're training/racing TT's, tri's or anything that involves more steady state stuff. It's not very good for; accurate measurement, sprint training or stuff like crit racing. Which, as far as I can remember is what DCRainmaker concluded.
