A year ago I was on the same spot as you.
I discovered the Bugera V22. It's a bit chunk (19kgs), 2 channel with boost, reverb and a turbosound speaker.
For the amount of money that you mentioned above you can get a new one. I have plugged various guitars and I wasn't disappointed with the outcome.
