Yeah, since I got it back and then did the factory reset and updated the firmware it has been fine. I'll stick to Garmin maps from now on. Just being able to look up places based on the UK postcode is enough reason to pay the extra.

So there's issues using openstreet maps? Kinda sucks as garmin maps likely won't have the trails I'll be riding =/

My second 810 keeps crashing when navigating as well. Again tried a factory reset, auto power off settings and checking the firmware was up to date.
Ended up on the phone to garmin support who eventually let me know that because I'm using third party maps that are unsupported by them, aside from recommending a master reset there is nothing they are willing to or able to do to resolve the issue.
I've therefore ended up doing a hippy - I'm returning the current one and I've had a brand new unit with garmin europe mapping included arrive today. Let's see how it goes. Needless to say, if there is still an issue, I'm not going to be particularly happy!
@hippy is yours still going strong with the official garmin maps?
