  • Yes, I was debating putting the preview on it already. Been trying it out today, it's quite nice phone. Amazing for $50 bux, just annoying that Google won't release their apps on Windows Phone, nor allow third party to use their API's on it.

  • I suspect that Google are aware that in the long-run MS are probably more of a threat to them than Apple are.

Any idea if one of these bought in the US will work in the UK? I seem to remember they may have different 4G bands but they're much cheaper in the US.

  • The whole phone seems to have been forever asking me for updates, but I'll give it a try. I don't have a nano sim yet, so I'll probably hold off until I can actually use it as a mobile. I seem be carrying more phones than a dealer at the moment.

@Festerban - useful to know. I'm sure one of the senders has an iphone, so wondered if it was something to do with that.

  • Oh and does anyone have a case for the moto x they'd recommend. I just want something thin to protect it. It's one of those ridiculous £5 purchases you seem to loose days researching!

  • Tablets pretending to be phones >>>

    Do you read me, Google?

  • So the t-mobile Lumia 635 uses these bands

    Connectivity
    GSM - 850MHz; GSM - 900MHz; GSM - 1800MHz; GSM - 1900MHz; UMTS - Band I (2100); UMTS - Band II (1900); UMTS - Band IV (1700/2100); UMTS - Band V (850); LTE - 2; LTE – 4; LTE – 5; LTE – 7; LTE – 17

I believe it should be compat with T-Mobile europe, but you'd need to double check

  • Phablets is the word to use nowadays you Luddite...

  • No it's not and that's my point.

    Phones - N5 down
    Tablets - N6 up

They need to produce another phone, not more fucking tablets. Some of us don't want to sit on the train watching episodes of the latest box set, we want fast, easy-to-use-with-a-pint-in-the-other-hand, phones.

    Tablets >>>>

  • Resisted that Moto X sale in reading of a newer Nexus 5 to be made by LG...

  • People with small hands >>>>

This isn't the market segment you're looking for.

  • I don't have small hands.

I do have a need to use a phone one-handed whilst drunk without worrying about dropping it.

The N5 is as big as need be. Don't make them bigger, make them faster with longer battery life and ANT+.

  • Cheers, I'll have to see what bands get used over here. Not quite sure how 2, 4, etc translate to MHz

  • I do have a need to use a phone one-handed whilst drunk without worrying about dropping it.

At last: a common-sense approach to technology that addresses the needs of the ordinary punter.

Moar tech needs to be #1hand.

  • Oneplus One is down to £220 now I think

It was and I uhmmed and ahhed and now its sold out. Stupid me.

  • Ah ballbags. Well oneplus two must only be around the corner. Don't think I'll upgrade anytime soon but despite the problems some have had with their OPOs mine's been fine and I'd definitely chuck more money their way. Although now they're parting company with cyanogen I don't know whether I'd follow the software or the hardware...

  • OnePlus Two is announced on the 27th of July. I'd really hold off if possible (hence my $50 stand in Nokia)

  • Google Play being dickheads about my warranty because I'm in Oz now... Should hopefully be OK but possible they might have to send the handset to a UK address... Boring bureaucratic nonsense...

  • I got in that argument with Samsung US. They wanted me to send the phone to Samsung UK because I bought it in the UK facepalm All it needed was a new screen.

  • It's pretty dumb, innit?

    I'm sure it'll get resolved...

  • Joe, this one is dedicated to you.

Parcelfarce have lost my old Nexus 5 that was on its way to the mothership.
I've informed google and given them the tracking number so they don't blame me for it and charge me for the replacement I've been using for a couple of weeks...

  • Ha! Amazing... ;)

  • Just hit 'em with "Bro do you even globalisation?" and then ask them how many of their Chinese workers have died recently.

  • The oneplus one has been appearing and disappearing for a little while. If you want one, keep checking.

Looking forward to the Cardboard that I won in one of their competitions appearing shortly...

  • Thanks. I'll keep checking.

I'd wait but my Nexus 4 is dying, overheating, lots of random crashing at inopportune moments. Would a factory reset help?

Also there'll be so much demand for a OnePlusTwo that it'll be months after the launch date until I can get my hands on one.

  • Get a moto E to tide you by until Autumn when EVERYTHING comes out.
