Maybe if they bought one last month but not buying something (and hence not getting the benefit) because at some point in the future it may or may not be discounted an unknown amount isn't exactly the greatest strategy either.

Probably, but then that makes everyone who bought the suddenly deprecated single sided unit look like a wally when it's slashed to £300.
