Thanks all for the help, I'll get the measuring tape back out!
Ed, yes I do have a spirit level, which part is this key for? Ensuring that the saddle angle is the same on both bikes?

• #1628
No? Why's that?

Good tips on replicating positions on bikes just by resting back wheel against a wall and measuring from that fixed point to get stack reach and setback measurements.
Use the Bubble app on your smartphone to get your saddle tilt identical.

No, to ensure the distance between saddle nose to BB centre is spot on.

^don't need spirit level if you use the tip in the vid; much easier and much more accurate and repeatable.

Video doesn't tell me anything.

Riding in the drops of my road bike keeping first finger on the brake lever, after about 30 - 40 minutes I start get get a numb hand, but only the right hand. Any ideas?
-

WTF are you riding on the drops for 40 minutes for

I had similar issue riding crit; added a spacer and it stopped. Basically reduce weight on hands. Do you bend or arch your back? You can do the letting go of hands while in drops test ..
As soon as you arch and get used to it your hands will have less weight to support your upper body. Requires a bit (not a lot) of core strength and hamstring flexibility. Try the position off bike and you'll know what muscles are used.

Surprised by the numbers given how aggressive the bikes and their positions look; my current set up is 8cm saddle to bar with 16mm canyon i-lock spacer ..

Where did you get bike fit with track bike please?
Thanks

Taller riders have greater drop.

@DragunovCZ1 where do you live? I went to cyclefit in London and I've been very happy with them. Lots of people here will recommend "the bike whisperer" too.

Having a tape measure to hand I measured floor to top of bar, and floor to top of mid-saddle, removed one figure from the other and got 10cm.
So I'm 1.1cm drop (and about 200 watts) short of Spartacus.

Not necessarily though; nibali and quintana have same drop .. maybe riders with longer legs have more drop?
Although Nibbles must be butt of the joke withing pro peleton with this mahosive scoble stack
