Yeah, @stenus, it's in Hareskoven next to the Furesø lake. There is a 25ish km marked mtb trail, a bunch of designated campsites and a few shelters. I've downloaded http://www.shelterapp.dk, which gives a great view of where you can camp. It covers all of Denmark, I think. On Singletrack.dk you can find mtb trails.
Rules in Danish public forests are: No camping, unless you're in a designated spot and no riding outside trails/paths.
I took El Jefe to see Minions yesterday and having nothing to do afterwards, we decided to take a short microadventure. Packed some basic camping stuff, some food and a change of clothes and headed to the forests north of Copenhagen. Some singletrack and gravel later, we found a nice spot overlooking a lake. Pitched the tent, ate and went to sleep. Got up with the sun at 05:00, had a bit of breakfast and then took an hour long ride around the forest. Packed it all down when we got back and headed home.
