  • I have the 2014 SL seatpost, graphics are not removable. Hongfu seatposts are decent and have no graphics; light, cheap, more vertically compliant ..

  • Ta. I was thinking the non-sl might be removeable; looks like the SL is anodised while the regular could still be screened...

  • I tried with a LOT of acetone on SL .. canny, stem graphics are removable on both SL and non.

  • Yeah acetone won't do anything to anodising/ laser...

I might order the post and have a closer look. The graphics are in 2 colour which suggests to me that they're not lasered or anodised...

  • Whoa, haven't checked this thread for a bit and reading through the last pages has been an emotional roller coaster to say the least. Glad everything worked out in the end and new new frame looks awesome!

  • Hah, yeah, it's all settled down into a nice familiar dithering about components now. Which is nice.

I couldn't be happier about the frame, it really is awesome.

  • Haven't made any progress on this as my arm has been in a sling, but that comes off tomorrow. Pending a few weeks of physio I can finish the build and go for a ride.

  • Oh man, sorry to hear of the injury, but I hope things are healing up well! Must be frustrating :(

  • Well that sucks. Get better soon.

  • Cheers both, this is a habit of mine (see my crosscheck thread, in fact I've had surgery to repair that injury). :)

  • So... This must be finished now?

  • Still got a couple of weeks til my doctor (hopefully) clears me to ride/build a bike.

Turns out I was being hopeful in terms of recovery time, and its more like 3 months off riding.

  • Well, this has taken ages.

The good news is I'm now okay to cycle in terms of my shoulder rehab. So the frame and forks are off to fitzrovia bikes this week for framesaver treatment, then I will build and ride.

    Cannot. Wait.

  • Well that's great!

  • About time, good news.

  • Okay so the frame and forks are not off to the shop for treatment as the shop have not got back to me yet to say they have the frame saver in stock. Bit miffed - not saying its the shops fault, I just want this built now. I understand it is difficult to get the stuff ordered in as royal mail are reluctant to carry it.

If anyone knows a competent trust worthy shop in London with framesaver in stock, please let me know. I just want it done, it should be a 48 hour task.

  • Could you go to a frame builder, who will probably have a few cans of it lying about?

  • I could indeed. I would prefer a bike shop in walking distance of se5 or w1t though, as I don't have a car. I shall have a phone around tomorrow.

  • Use linseed oil instead? Takes a week or two to cure/dry though.

  • Drop in to Rusby or Seabass, they both might have some

  • Sea bass is a no. Where's rusby?

  • Okay looks like rat race in nunhead will be able to do this for me, so problem solved! Hurrah.

  • pics!!!!!111!

  • I've ridden steel road bikes for the past 25+ years and I've never framesavered one. Is it just because its custom and not worth taking the risk?

Can't you do it at a later date?
