  • I am looking for coach ticket! (ideally for two)

  • yeh let's do it. Easy for me - I just turn up the volume on my new iTicker!

  • Whats your number Nic? I'm 07717 665562.

  • Will you be loitering at London fields in the evening? I may have a pannier with me, and would be very grateful to have it arrive at the beach without my involvement!

  • I'm just looking forward to finding out which important long-ride item my bro will neglect to bring this time, it's been food the last two years, appropriate clothing last year. Always remembers his tabs tho. Priorities!

  • Shame....I've actually put off a ride across the peaks to do it this year, as my rota has fallen kindly for a change!

  • anyone need a coach ticket?

    got one for sale....

  • It's not even the train operator who'd buy the carriage, it's a ROSCO (basically a bank) who would buy it and lease it back to them. Don't even go there.

  • Whiskey
    Fags
    Charlie
    Banana

    Let's DD !!

  • Let's do dis?

  • If you brought it to Hornsey, sure.

  • Ps. I have notifications turned off, so PM me if you need to contact.

  • I'm not going to be able to print out the ticket which is a ball ache, the email from southwark cyclists said they might be able to scan the barcode from a phone or iPad- is it too much of a risk to bring the barcode on an iPad or iPhone and rely on that?

  • No, because if they can't scan it you just need to queue up at the laptop. It's in the email you just quoted.

  • Who is in a slow moving group?
Will be loaded and guiding a intimidated noob.

Could perhaps do with some company..

  • I'm riding with panniers, won't be going mad I guess about 17mph or so?

  • Would be nice to at least start at that pace. I know even on the roadie I usually round it down to about 14 by the end ;)

  • Will be on the pompino with green front pannier bags on. Hopefully see your purple and orange about in london fields.

  • I will only be mooching....taking in the vibe!
I don't know if I'm going to be able to get to London fields for the off, so might ride out to dunmow and pick up the mob there though....black Mercian and sporting a forum cap!

  • Last-minute lights? Does anyone know a physical-shop, with a door you can walk through, to buy a set of Cree lights? I've woken up with the urge to finally do DD.

  • @stuinthewood I have this lying around if you want it?
I used two a few years back, but would have been fine with just one.

I can bring and have spare batts (lasts all night easy though).

  • (Banana is mine)

    • At the 12 mile mark (just after Snape Maltings), take the right-hand fork onto the B1069 through Tunstall, Rendlesham and Eyke to pick-up your route at Melton (just before the 22 mile mark): quieter and through the shady forests.
    • Just before the 25 mile mark (at the Red Lion), turn tight onto the Bealings/Martlesham/Playford Rd, instead of the A1214: quieter and for the most part shaded.
    • If you do take the A1214, use the underpass at the Black Tiles (top of the Red Lion hill) to cross the A12, instead of the roundabout: less dodgy innit.
    • On the A1214, the dogleg at the 27 mile mark is pointless, just stay on the A1214.
    • When you hit the roundabout at 29.6 miles, turn right onto the A1189 (past Heath Road hospital), straight over the next roundabout (Foxhall Road) and right at the next one (St Augustines church) onto the A1156 to rejoin your route at 31.4 miles: stay the fuck out of the town centre.
  • That's really kind, though I'm apprehensive of showing up to London Fields without a front light with a beam. About as disorganised as could be. How would I identify you at the start among the crowds?

  • I haven't been out riding late at night for a while now. If lowest temps are 15/16C, should I be in a short or long sleeved jersey?
