Time Atac Pedals

Did you ever manage to open a beer with an atac cleat? Tried earlier today with no success..

Cleat? Doing it wrong no?

Spring bars on the pedals make excellent bottle openers.

Bike was nowhere near, I sorted to open it with the cardboard of the pizza box, but was wondering if anyone managed to do with the cleat.. Time to change pedals otherwise!

Ahahah apparently Neil Bezdek is more concerned about trying this rather than training for the RHC..

Anyway, will try better tomorrow with atacs and spds cleats to see which one works better

Can anyone recommend a good mud-shedding ATAC pedal? Or should I just go with Shimano?

All of them compared to shimano...?

I ordered some this morning and just got a despatch notice so will update when/if they arrive.

I ordered some mitts from them once. They were in stock online. I got a dispatch email a couple of days later. All seemed good...
Then I bothered to check the tracking and the estimated delivery was 45 days later. I emailed them and they said they're out of stock but have created the dispatch thingy ready for when it comes into stock... What a load of bullshit.

Hmmm, that's not a good sign.

Still, if I'm interpreting the euro tracking page correctly the pedals seem to be currently doing something in Spain. Will check tomorrow to see if they are any signs of them leaving, or if they are just hanging out on the beach.

I think they are based in Spain aren't they?

paid through paypal too. not sure if that makes any difference

i also got an email yesterday saying they waited for the gloves to send out the whole order, and that the delay was due to having no stock in the gloves. 8 days though from EU is pretty good. well worth the price difference

The tracking status for mine is a bit cryptic so I am not sure if they are still in Spain, or have left on their way to somewhere else.

Yeah, they did seem to take a pretty roundabout route, spain, belgium and at some point they seem to have been in france! But they were still showing as in Belgium until the morning they arrived.

is there anywhere I can order spares for some XC 8 pedals? Mainly looking for springs, but other spares would be good (obvs bearings from a bearing shoppe)

Anyone used the new ATAC xc2? On sale at Merlin for £30. An odd lack of finishing on them (sort of like a modern interpretation of the classic ATAC), square retention bars and a mere 300 grams for the pair (which is almost down to eggbeater weight). Hopefully they're as durable as the old ones.
