Ride London, the famously busy sportive?
I've not ridden it but I'd have thought for most people getting a good time will be down to following wheels, making friends to work with and staying out of pile-ups.
If you were riding it solo then getting aero could save many mins.
tl:dr spend the money on beer (after the ride).

I wouldn't go for anything less than an intermediate/standard station wagon/estate if you've got two bike boxes. You might get away with a compact wagon, but it'd be touch and go and would depend on which model you got.

It's going to have to be big - A6 estate, the A4 is way too small, my Volvo 850 would do it but the V70's are smaller these days, so not sure on those. Some of the Merc estates might be big enough?
Or get a couple of EVOC bags and collapse them before shoving them in the boot with the bikes in a Passat sized estate? Might save the purchase price of the bags on the rental, depending how much it increases per vehicle size class.
Or leave the bike boxes in the left luggage at Toulouse and just put the bikes in the car?

I've got two bike boxes (Alan's BikeBox and @Cycliste's B&W box) in the back of an Audi A4 Avant. And an Alan's BikeBox and a Helium. Doesn't leave much room for luggage (well, none really) but they will go.

If there are just two passengers then any car will do, just drop the back seat.

Cheers everyone.
Had a look at the Avis site and, believe it or not, they have a tradesman style Renault Kangoo II van for 9 days for £198.00. Result! -

Perfect. We had a Citroen Berlingo on a recent trip. Horrible to drive, but did the job of lugging everything around very nicely.

I sometimes forget my Impreza has rear seats, they're down so much of the time. What I really need is a shooting brake with lots of load space, 2 seats, and a bloody great big engine.

I need some old school canti brake pads, not too pricey, all-round, on standard alu rims, for commuting.
Will these KoolStops do? Or does anyone have any better suggestions?

Lateral thinking; dump boxes at left luggage in airport, any car will do....

Is 38 tooth the smallest available on 130 pcd? Looking at them, I can't imagine any fewer teeth really.
Cheers.

Couldn't see see conclusively that they had left luggae at Toulouse but would have been my preferred option. Strong suggestion. Still reckon £198.00 for a van for a week is a cracking deal.
Guys, what do you think about this frame? I'm not too familiar with alves frames. Need help. Thanks! Is it a good frame?
