Hmm, I hadn't considered Rychtarski but had kind of written off the idea of a UK custom frame due to cost. Might have to rethink now I've looked at a couple of Rychtarski builds. Now to research disc forks that'll take mudguards and racks that'll fit on disc frames etc.

Can't tell if you were dissing the DeRosa
No, just the premise that it is in a different category to the Canyon. Good bike yes, top tier no.

Speaking of Canyon.
Seems to have stolen the headtube from the Aeroroad, otherwise not much changing:

"The German company claims it's 10 per cent more comfortable..."
Um... eh??

I know it's already been mentioned.. but Canyon again. They're are certainly on par, possibly above many of the 'top tier' makers you've mentioned. You might consider them as a lower end manufacturer due to their very competitive prices.. because they have a direct sales business model. They are very 'German' in both aesthetics and performance, i.e. matte black/gloss black - smart and subtle, and with high end models such as the Ultimate CF and Aeroad being very pedal efficient, possibly a bit harsh without a flexy seatpost. In the flesh they are very attractive and unique bikes.
P.s. I don't own a Canyon, but I've ridden both of the above mentioned models plus 2 friends of mine own the Ultimate CF model. -

Surprised there's no mention of the bmc alr01. I've been eyeing up the tiagra version. Good bike for a grand?

^It's horrible - Trek have done it better
Still aero bikes can >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Of all the Aero bikes, I reckon the Canyon Aeroad looks the best. The venge's new front end and stem look bloody awful!! Madone looks ok though.

seriously, that trek is hideous

Massively bias. But I still prefer the Felt aero road bike.
But then I really like the New venge. So my opinion on asthetics probably doesnt Count for loads.

All of them are butt ugly. Especially the seat tube extension on the Trek. Yuk.

I'm secretly also a massive fan of the new Venge...

Also new croix. New fork and down tube bottle bosses. Well fork looks like the old one.

Both the Trek and the Spec are horrible looking bikes, if you want aero ride a time trial, can't stand aero bikes myself, give me Columbus SLX and Reynolds 753!
-
• #47
wow the new croix is even uglier than the current one.

Genesis seem to get it right in the prototype stage, then go and fook it up on the production runs, why go back to a steel fork, and the colour.....yuk!

Air brake?
Rychartski (sp), Wittson (sp) (who are I believe the same people) will make whatever you want in either steel or titanium, or there are a number of UK builders who would also do so (for a bit more cash).
