On another topic, how come Stewart Lee has agreed to curate ATP? The same ATP who have ripped off fans and the artists who have made their festivals possible.

music festivals prove that there is still a very real need for an underground scene, regardless of the genre, as cliched as that sounds. glastonbury is for people that hate music.Ditto radio1

when did atp rip off fans and artists?
-
• #661
I personally know bands from the US who have come over to play, and who didn't get paid. This is apparently fairly common.
Regarding the fans, they tried to squirm their way out of taking responsibility for refunding fans after they cancelled the Jabberwocky festival at short notice. It was all out in the open on Twitter as people were quoting email responses from ATP on ATP's own page. Ugly stuff in my opinion.

Have to say altho festivals are marmite, I think the majority of punters enjoy the vibe. Behind the main acts at Glasto is a huge pool of amazing music. Just get onto iplayer and stream away...Goat ftw. B-)

And now BBC radio is going to dine out on its live recordings for the next week. Someone wake me when it's all over.

Absolute.

It was one of the best gigs I've ever been too. Completely mesmerising. Big kudos to the cymbalists, looked very difficult and tiring. It was also one of the most deafening experiences of my life, only just got my hearing back today, have been wandering around in a muffled daze.

Wish I'd gone to it. Only found out after it had sold oot.

i feel the festival going experience and the youth in general are best summed up using the medium of song:

The Goat set is class. I wasn't sure about the song of theirs on the Green Man playlist but now I'm definitely going to make the detour to catch them.
This is precisely what I was about to write: not a single gurner. Just rich kids trying to dress like hippies.
