@user56140 I believe that the grub screw is threaded all the way.
Ghetto fix:
If the threads are gone, just buy a larger diametre grub screw an force it in.
A bag of mixed grub screw go for about £4 on eBay.Proper fix:
Get a bike shop to re-thread the grub screw hole - it should not cost more than £25 including the new grub screw.Rich Man fix:
Buy a quill seatpost of the right diameter. Hard to find and £££.I hope this helps!

Hi vince,
Couple of days ago I stumbled upon an identical bike, I bought it in heart beat since it looks great and didnt have any rust or troubles. But i stumbled upon a problem when started disassembling which is the screw that fixes the seat height.
is it supposed to be threaded all the way the opening to adjust the seat? or just at the end? since here it seems like there some serious miss usage where the threads are all gone.
