About time you had kids isn't it?

TransAm's been won by one Melbourne lad. Why can't another do it? :)
RAAM completion would be a nice bucket list tick.
Anyway you're already fast, what are you worried about? -
• #9829
No fucking chance.
Right, lets talk about next season's racing...

Andy wilkinson and christoph strausser have set the bar pretty high. You're not far behind.
I reckon don't bother with raam, just go unsupported racing. It's where the fun it.

I could be drinking lager or something instead of riding up and down A roads 12 hours at a time.

Nice one Ed!

Riding across the US would provide good scope for brewery visiting..

I always get this way when the training gets longer and I run out of time to sort things out. Once the 24hr is done the TT bikes can go away for a month and I'll try and sort my PBP road bike out. Then a few more short TTs and maybe a trip to the US and then I'll be off the bike.
-
• #9837
I can't keep up: did you sort the 11 speed/Raltech thang?
-
• #9838
It's a work in progress. Madison don't bring in the 17T sprocket I need (or any other for that matter) so I had to order from Germany. Bike Whisperer sorting me out with spacers but I'm out at a gig on Monday so won't see them so it'll be another week or so before I see if the Dark Speed Works method works.

If all else fails, get the Dremel out and cut the outer/toothed part of the bottom sprocket off, leaving the centre riveted to the cluster?
-
• #9840
Another option. Expensive cassette to be attacking with a dremel though.

Losers count pennies.
Winners count trophies.

• #9842
But I'm already implementing a more expensive solution by buying new shit :)

Well I hope your 50 went better than mine Scilly. Zip on my skinsuit broke just before my start, so I had to pin it together.
Elite Crono bottle look really good in a BTA setup, but pisses out its contents every time you go over a bump. Which when you ride on UK TT courses, is quite often. Pretty sure I only drank about 100ml from it.
Didn't really try hard enough, shit power, kept getting distracted. Head wasn't in the right place, mentally or physically.
Oh, and I missed the fucking finish. Went on straight past the finish sliproad. Said fuck a lot, walked the bike back to the finish. Was on for a 1:53 which is still shit. Don't even know if I'll get a time or a DNF, would probably prefer the DNF tbh.

Well, I sensibly prepared my pills, powders & potions last night... and left them in the fridge this morning.
However, my zip-tied BTA bottle cage held and someone had dropped a gel on the way to the start, so I slipped that up my sleeve: balance restored.
I was seeded with 23:00 and vets standard is 18:18, so I'm more than happy with 15:00 and my race partner bagged the ten year old course record.
Godric CC laid on a proper, old school spread and were marshalled up to the hilt.
2:15/50 Would trash my gooch again!

What's the difference between that and a normal bottle?
-
• #9847
Designed to be used horizontally (apparently): not used one myself, just had it on my short-list.
-
• #9848
Haven't had a problem with regular bottles, the Crono is just a retarded design. Cap just clips on rather than screws, and doesn't really have a proper valve so water can force it's way out.
-
• #9849
unlucky dude, it's always so stressful when something goes wrong before you have even started. 1:53 is hardly 'shit' though. Better luck next time!

Even the Camelbak Podium ejects fluid when used in the horizontal position on UK roads.
LOL @ Fasterer. Hope there is a forum to go with it.
