Tijs, yeah just made a joke about the rules etc. Was looking up two at the same time, didn't work out the way I wanted to XD.
Rule is simple. Measured from 12 o'clock they can't be at 0, 90, 180, 270 (duh, if one is at 270, the other is at 90) and 360 (duh). Besides that, not extending the parts of the frame (aligning them to the tubes) is a really big plus.
Point is, the bike still doesn't look nice. The split seat post (even a Supertype looks better) and that ugly half-fork and huge clearances really need to go. As well as the bad color combination.
Rule #26 actually.
I get that we hold (pictures of) bikes in this thread to a higher standard, but would you agree not putting the cranks in the 'proper' position isn't taking away from the p0rn-level of the bike itself?
Also, what is the correct way to position your cranks? The rules say:
Measured from where, 12 o'clock? I'd say putting them at 3 o'clock should acceptable, since the typography on most cranks is horizontal this way. Probably more than half of the (pictures of) bikes in this thread are guilty of breaking this sin.
What would be the preferred way to position them in your eyes?
If I wanted to be pedantic I could say the rules allow the cranks to be at 270 degrees, which is technically horizontal. ;)
