I used Cooke Taylor Woodhouse in Eltham. They were cheaper than the forum solicitor. Possibly not as good though fortunately everything was straightforward with mine, so I had no complaints.
As an alternative viewpoint, we used these folks them as part of our purchase, but not for the conveyancing itself, and they were awful and almost made us miss us our exchange date.

Bear in mind that the price includes stamp duty. His fees aren't bad. Also, you get what you pay for etc etc.

re kitchen floors, anything dark or rough textured will be difficult to clean and difficult to see the dirt on
light tiles will also reflect more light making kitchen a bit less dingy, nice sealed glossy tiles are the way to go imo

@ChainBreaker I just saw you pouting up CS3 looking grumpy. Now I know why. Hugs.

You were devouring lesser commuters and leaving their remains in your wake, by the look of it. I was pootling, and glad to be heading the other way so as not to incur your wrath.

Anyone had experience of building a side return extension? Looks like I'm gonna be able to afford some home improvements.
I'm an architect, drop me a PM if you need any advice.

Ah! I find it's easier in front. No unaware nodder Pelaton to deal with. Plus it's fun to pass or leave behind someone giving it the beans on a geared bike. Their faces... I can only imagine their faces. Utter disgust, mostly at the own lives. Crushed. Despair and sorrow their only friends who also ride in the Pelaton...
So my face is just a mask hiding my joy

Home (just contents) insurance renewal in a few weeks, up another £100 despite no claim. Time to switcheroo.
What's the current recommendation for home insurance that will cover bikes securely locked in a shed-like-thing (bikes total worth >£6k [ 2500, 2000, 500, 500, 300, 300 ] ) without being silly extra?

iirc hiscox
no longer m&s

Ta. Hiscox looks good. Down from £525 to £260 despite having a claim for a theft in the last 5 years. Just need to check a few things and then I can cancel the old policy renewal and sort this out.

ah bit late to the party on that one then. either way this slum development is rife now. wonder when we'll see proper shanty towns?
keep an eye on what they try to put your re-instatement costs at. it is how they can miraulously lower your premium when you come back and tell them that you have got a better quote elsewhere...
