• Yeah it is what I would expect but the fact that the TP chart doesn't reflect that and the IFs being so similar etc sort of makes me doubt the whole IF/TSS concept.

  • IF is a red herring. I ignore it really. Once you get over a few hours it fails to tell the picture of what a ride was like. Look at overall TSS and TSS/h.

    What's your PMC look like?

    2h w Z4 intervals should come out around 140TSS minimum.
    3h Z3 Should come out around 150TSS.

    The first ride is 70TSS/h
    The second is 50TSS/h

    One is clearly easier than the other. Hard intervals are hard. And it will take longer to recover, irrespective of overall TSS figure sometimes.
    It's easy to build fatigue or TSS numbers if you want, but quality work is what counts.

    Also I forgot to add, fatigue from a ride depends totally on what you've done it days before. If you've fresh, then a ride with X watts will be cool. But do that same ride 3 times and you'll be too tired to hit X watts or near it.
