@h2o See, I'm coming from the D700, so this is just as disgustingly compact for me. I hated the Xpro first time I used it, but I borrowed it again for a trip and despite its stupid quirks, when it did get the shot, it just floored me and I'm hooked.
I reckon I might go with what you say and get the 18mm. Seems to be pretty understated.
Totally get the one lens idea. It's exhausting having to think about 'how to shoot, so what lens' every time a camera comes out.
