  • I'll be curious to see what bars you go for. I'm always half on the look out for low rise with a decent amount of sweep, but not north road / cruiser esq ones. I reckon it will be a nice set up for the summer as well.

Re the shifters; as cool and retro as thumbies / hybrid-conversion thumbies look (in a Prolly / Rivindale way), trigger shifters are just way better. Once you factor the totally ridiculous price it's a no brainer.

And before anyone says anything about reliability - you're commuting not crossing the Gobi Desert and mtbs seem to manage fine with triggers ;)

  • I think bar three is my winning option so far.

The main reason I like thumbies is because it's just one lever to shift with. I had them on my rat bike, they're good. But you're right about the price, it's not worth it.

  • I've gone back to these bars after trying drops for the winter. So much more fun and much comfort. I initially wanted to go with the Jones H-bars but the price was insane.
Look into the Ergotec brand on Rose bikes, they've got a few bars like you posted.

Really looking forward to this. That Surly you posted sealed the deal for me.
