I was going to go with conti-comps but the butyl inner and stiff sidewalls put me off. These are meant to be resiliant mountain tyres. But I dont want to spend valuble time in the mountians riding naff feeling tyres.
They don't feel that "naff". I quite like them. I've got loads of tubulars but the Comps are my "go to" long distance tyre. They are reasonably round, have very good grip, corner well and are robust. There are LTDs out there with latex inner-tubes but I really don't mind the butyl. If you don't need the protection layer and want something a bit lighter you can also run the Tempos--- a lot of people in the pro-tour circuit use them in mountains.
Strange. I was going to go with conti-comps but the butyl inner and stiff sidewalls put me off. These are meant to be resiliant mountain tyres. But I dont want to spend valuble time in the mountians riding naff feeling tyres. So these 'on paper' seemed a nicer option.
Maybe I'll get the conti's for the aero wheels and see how they feel.
