Cheers dude, think it's my favourite incarnation. Certainly the most fun to ride.

Tidy little roadie for a shortie, 50cm.

Got my Paul Donohue hand built after a great review in the cycling weekly round about the 2000 year. Be great if someone could get a hold of it. More pics to come laterz after i have polished the bike.

Just a heads up. This ones a beaut! And a (rare?) alloy one.

This is rad and in my size, I'm quite tempted but I really don't need it.

£350 if anyone is after an 853 roadie.

They thought my frame was alloy (in for stuck BB) not steel
Proud moment... :'(

Mine on a long weekend trip:
This is my second vaguely serious road bike and I love it. Looking at carbon forks, groupset and wheelset upgrade in the longer term. More here:

That wheel/tyre combination looks fantastic

Picked this up about a year ago, absolutely love it, even though I do get some stick for the colour. Kinda tempted to sell. Anyone know how much it would be worth?

I think this belongs here.

Think I may be joining the society...
Just scored this on the ebay for not too much dosh.
Looks to be 853 but with non-original Harry Hall fork.
Will confirm frame# etc when I pick it up.
Will need to get out the torch and silver solder to reattach the rear nds dropout, but other than that, all good (I hope)

Picked it up today - no sign of a frame serial# - is this normal - if not, where should I look for one.
Not 100% sure it's wither 853 or weigh.
Headtube cable eyes are quite distinctive as is the headtube cable routing - Anyone seen this before?
Also the chainstays taper in the reverse direction (like flared trousers) - is this a thing on 853?

Chainstay reverse flare
Has anyone else seen any of this sort of stuff on 853 Weigh/Donohoue etc?

Yep, the chainstays on mine (631, teardrop downtube) are similar. I think I've seen others too.

• #274
Brilliant, cheers - Also, the top tube cable routing & rear brake bridge are similar in style to your 559 CP.

Mine has no serial either...
My very unscientific steel test was tap it and listen to the sound and compare to my other steelies, it sounds very "thin" not like 531/631 so I concluded 853 (along with the formed tube shape which 853 only seem to have)
I simply love that.
